Testing in this way plays an important role in ensuring the highest quality products and delivering the driving experience you demand.
Only Revo performance ECU Software maintains factory safety levels and additional driving features, so you can enjoy each mode’s unique characteristics as usual. You can also choose between two pre-set fuel quality modes depending on which fuel you use. If you would like the ability to do this yourself then the Revo SPS Software Switch is also available separately, which can be used to quickly switch fuel modes and access an additional Anti-Theft mode without the need to visit a Revo Authorised Dealer.

GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Only Revo operates a Global Development Programme through its network of over 400 Revo Authorised Dealers worldwide. Access to vehicles on this scale enables the calibration team to fine-tune products before release, testing products in a wide range of climates and conditions including altitude, fuel quality, humidity. This also allows Revo to test how Revo products perform in different driving scenarios and formed a vital part in the development of Performance ECU Software.
Performance testing was carried out on a private track in the UK with an ambient temperature of 17ºC. 2018 VW Golf R with DSG transmission. Revo Rv019 19″ wheels with road tyres, traction control off and 99RON Shell vPower. The average performance times are taken from 5 consecutive runs.

COLD START PROTECTION FEATURE
For engine oil to work effectively and lubricate your engine it needs time to warm up. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at its thickest, producing higher oil pressure when pumped around the engine putting extra pressure on oil seals. As the engine temperature increases, so do the oil temperature. This thins the oil, enabling it to run more freely and better lubricate the moving parts of your engine. Cold Start Protection helps protect engine components by limiting turbo boost until the oil temperature increases and reaches optimum operating levels.
- Oil below 70ºC: Boost limited
- Oil above 70ºC: Full boost available
Testing indicated that in high-temperature conditions (rolling road, high ambient temps, and prolonged Vmax use) oil temperatures can climb to an undesirable level. Revo Temperature Protection is an additional safety feature that reduces overall load as the oil temperature hits a set limit. The oil cooler valve opens sooner with Revo Software to ensure earlier cooling of oil. This feature actively monitors exhaust gas temperatures, adapting the requested load (power) to ensure they stay within safe parameters. If EGT’s reach an upper-temperature limit, then power is automatically reduced until the engine returns to a safe operating temperature.
EXHAUST OVERRUN 1
The Revo Exhaust Overrun feature offers an audible crackle that’s more OEM+ than ‘pops and bangs’. The track influenced acoustics are exclusive to Sports Mode and only activated when within safe tolerances. Active during manual gear shifts, throttle lift off during deceleration, whilst extensive development ensures engine safety. Currently only available for vehicles running Performance Pack or Stage 2 software and limited by ECU Identification number.
Using the Revo SPS Software Switch you can take advantage of the multiple options in your ECU Software. The patented OBD2 interface is the ultimate compliment to Revo performance software, giving you the ability to switch between 3 fuel performance modes and an Anti-Theft mode.
- SPS Position 1 – Stock Mode
- SPS Position 2 – 97ron fuel / Regular torque for manual vehicles with stock clutches
- SPS Position 3 – 98ron+ fuel / Higher torque for DSG or manual vehicles with an uprated clutch.
- SPS Position 4 – Anti Theft
Simply select a program, plug in, wait a few seconds, remove the SPS device and start the car. It’s simple and there’s no fixed switch to install in the vehicle.
TCU Software required for vehicles with the DQ250 DSG6 gearbox. Revo Transmission Control Unit (TCU) Software ensures your gearbox works in harmony with Revo ECU Software to give you access to even more power. Revo Software is installed with a built-in Antitheft Mode, which is accessible with the Revo SPS Software Switch. This mode disables throttle response and limits RPM, adding an extra level of security to your pride and joy.
