As part of our expanding Cosworth product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our intercooler upgrade suitable for track or fast road use.

This 70mm top fed core intercooler is suitable for the 3-door Sierra as well as the 2wd and 4wd Sapphire, and Escort Cosworth models.

In order to ensure there is no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving, we have developed a larger, freer-flowing intercooler that is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM item.

Our solution to increasing the intercooler’s size and performance within the confines of the limited space behind the bumper is based upon a high flow, single pass core with a huge 70mm depth. This offers a massive increase in overall capacity in comparison to the original intercooler, as well as a significant increase in frontal area over standard, which allows it to make the most of the air flow provided. An air ram scoop also works to ensure air is forced into the core.

The top feed design encourages air flow and reduces restriction in comparison to the common RS500-style intercoolers, which makes them more suited to higher levels of tune or heavy track use. The large 70mm core coupled with our high-flow end tanks ensure air is directed correctly and efficiently.

The kit fits neatly behind the original bumper and can be reverted back to standard with no issues. It fits the original inlet and outlet pipes and the optional fitting kit includes uprated polyurethane mounting bushes to replace the soft rubber bushes usually used to reduce movement and flex.

The intercooler is available in a Pro-Series Black or Natural Silver (with or without the AIRTEC logo).

Power Rating:
There are a lot of variables to how much power each intercooler can be rated at, but as a general rule we advise the 70mm top feed intercooler is good for builds up to approx. 500bhp.

• This will not fit models with air-con.
• Escort Cosworth models require 2WD hot side hose from the option list.
• This item is made to order – expect a lead time of approx. 2-3 weeks. 
• This product has been designed to fit with our uprated radiator. If you are using a standard radiator you may need to space it down by approximately 5mm.
