Jamies New Focus RS Mk2 gets the Airtec treatment We fit and test our new Airtec Intercooler on our customer Jamies brand new RS.
Yes, more testing! We know they work, but testing is so much fun!!!
Jamie decided to go with the polished version instead of the Pro-series black, to give it that ?move over BIG intercooler fitted? look.
Please note. You do NOT have to remove front bumper to fit our Intercooler.
Remove main top air deflector as shown in picture, also remove lower splash shield.
To remove original Intercooler undo the two 8mm bolts shown here, then the two jubilee clips holding the Boost pipes on and finally disconnect the Airflow sensor on the side of the Intercooler.
At this point its a good idea to remove the horn assembly, its held on with just one 10mm bolt, then disconnect wiring. This will be fitted back on at a later date.
Now remove Airflow sensor from old Intercooler, then place into new intercooler (tip. place small amount of grease on ?o? ring before fitting) then place small alloy spacer provided when fitting sensor.
then remove the two 10mm bolts at the front of the radiator cradle
Fit the two powder coated brackets to the top of the Intercooler with the stainless fixings provided.
We also added a Airtec logo onto Jamies Intercooler.
Fit the Intercooler in place, the brackets fit either side of the radiator cradle and the car body as shown in the picture.
After you are happy with position, tighten the brackets, re-fit boost pipes and reconnect airflow sensor multi plug.
Time to re-fit the horn asembly, it simply fits onto the top of the Intercooler with a stainless bolt provided.
The re-fit the main Air deflector and lower splash shields.
Close up of the logo.
